DRIVE NAME AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE IN WINDOWS
Recently my windows secondary drive names got changed to alternate name. I was not sure why it happened suddenly. I run lot of virtual machines on the drives. Due to autoextension of virtual disks my drives got dismounted suddenly and i restarted to see that the drive names were changed automatically.
Quick workaround would be to press windows + R to open run prompt and open diskmgmt.msc
Right click and choose Change Drive Letter and Paths –> click change
Select the drive from the drop down menu. Note that the drive may have some programs which run currently will fail due to change of drive name. If there are any production systems running on the drive, be cautious.
At last the drive change is reflected
